The bike tours are customised for all those who want to get the most out of their holiday here. It is a unique mixture of culture, relax, and learning in some of the most beautiful countrysides of the whole Italy. Make the most of your vacation!
Our bike tours are organised by a German guide in collaboration with an international team. Our partner has been operating in this area for over 25 years. The bike station is equipped with the renowned bike brand KTM and has its own repair and spare part garage. The bike tours may be led by an Italian, German or English speaking experienced guide. As a safety precaution, protective cycling helmets must always be worn. Helmets are available upon request at the bike station.
It is also possible only to take part in bike tours without attending any Italian lessons. It is an ideal solution for families, couples or friends with different interests. While one learns Italian, the others get to know Calabria by bike.
A minimum number of 2 participants must sign up for these mountain bike tours. Bike weeks are on offer as a 1-week package or 2-weeks package and can easily be combined with our standard language course (Course B 4×5).
Upon request, these packages can also be carried out during different periods.

Tour description
The Sunset
Departure: 4 pm; Duration: ca.2,5 hours; Difficulty: I; Distance: 16 km; Altitude: 90m
From Tropea towards the small fishing village of Parghelia: enjoy the magical panorama view of the long sandy beach of Zambrone, a short stop at Mimmo’s ice cream, the harbour, the “Lungomare” and the old town of Tropea.
The Lighthouse
Departure: 1h30 pm; Duration: ca.3,5 hours; Difficulty: I; Distance: 25 km; Altitude: 230 m
On this tour, a fantastic panorama can be enjoyed in a relaxing way. Riding from the hidden sidestreets of Tropea to the famous Capo Vaticano, passing through the typical onion fields. On a clear day, you will be rewarded with the view of the Gulf of Gioia Tauro, the strait of Messina, and on an extremely clear day, you can even see Mount Etna. To build up your strength, a “Peccoreo” (goat farmer) awaits you with homemade cheese and spicy sausages. On the way back to Tropea, you can admire orangeries and flowery meadows.
The Valley
Departure: 1:30pm; Duration: ca.4 hours; Difficulty: III; Distance: 16 km; Altitude: 90m
This tour requires good physical conditions and bike control. On the trip up to Ceramiti, you will ride along the dried river bed from one level to the next, but the view of endless sea and the Aeolian islands will pay your hard work back. The Valley is a tour full of variety with single trails, tarmac roads, and gravel paths.
The Vineyards
Departure: 1h30 pm; Duration: ca.4 hours; Difficulty: II; Distance: 26 km; Altitude: 600m
This semi-challenging tour will take you over the hilly countryside above Tropea, surrounded by the small private vineyards of Brattirò, romantic ruins and abandoned farms. A stop at one of the vineyards is included, you will taste good wine and Calabrian specialities. After a rest, you will enjoy the ride into the valley with view on the Aeolian islands
The Seventh Heaven
Departure: 10 am; Duration: ca.6 hours; Difficulty: IV; Distance: 56 km; Altitude: 1600 m
After a very challenging uphill ride to Monte Poro (711m), you will feel like you were in the 7th heaven. After visiting the medieval grotto of Zungri, you can relax with a good plate of “Tagliatelle ai Funghi Porcini”. The relaxing downhill ride with a view of the endless sea goes down through serpentine roads into the old town of Tropea.
