Italian literature is a rich and complex world, an interweaving of styles that have made Italian a magnificent and melodic language.
The panorama of the history of Italian literature is the main subject of our Italian literature course, that foresees as well the analysis of a pre-selected range of texts. These texts will be analyzed on two levels: on a cultural level, passing through the major literary movements and the greatest personalities of this fascinating literary heritage, and on a linguistic level to develop some skills that will make a literary text easily accessible for you.
This course is addressed to those who desire to deepen their literary knowledge for professional reasons or simply for passion.
Our Italian literature course can be held either as an individual course or as an intensive course. It’s up to you! Special group courses can also be organized for participants at the same level of competence, and who wish to focus on the same topic.

Content
The program is rich and full of a wide range of fascinating topics. Your journey will start with Dante Alighieri and the 13th-century movement of the Stilnovo and then, passing through the major literary movements over the centuries, it’ll take you into the history of contemporary literature.
The main poets’ and writers’ life will be studied along with their formal and stylistic choices. Furthermore, you’ll have the chance to write, read and analyze many texts using the most advanced technology tools. Indeed, it’s important for us to always use updated and productive teaching methods.
Objective
- To deeply understand the rich world of Italian literature in order to be able to get a clear overview of the history, movements, genres, and styles of the most representative authors
- To understand a literary text, as well as the author’s poetics
- To analyze the language and style of the studied works in reference to their historical period
Type of course
– If you want to attend this course on an individual basis you may choose our one-to-one and two-to-one packages of individual lessons.
This way you are completely flexible concerning the timetable and the number of lessons booked.
– If you want to attend this course on an intensive basis but in a group course, the number of lessons is 4 lessons daily, 5 days a week (according to the regulation of group courses) + 2 private lessons, 3 days a week = 20 group lessons + 6 private lessons
The group lessons are divided into 2 units of 2 lessons each, with a 20-minutes break in between. Each unit is executed by a different teacher. The first part is dedicated to grammar and the second part to conversation. Both parts are performed in a communicative approach. Then during the additional individual lessons, the teacher will focus cleary on business and trading terminology, which will be tailor-made completely to your particular needs.
