Piccola Università Italiana was founded in 1993 in Tropea by Antonio Lamantea as a caffè culturale to allow international students to learn the Italian language while having stimulating and deep conversations, but always in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere!
In 2004 our caffè culturale changed its name to Piccola Università Italiana in the willingness of giving to our school a name which could reflect its high professionalism.
As a matter of fact, all our top-rated teachers and members of our staff are highly qualified and have been accurately selected.
Our mission is to guarantee the student a unique learning experience in a friendly atmosphere to feel welcome from the first moment. We consequently do our best to ensure that our courses meet the student’s level and his requirements; that’s why our lessons are exclusively held in small groups, and may also be tailor-made.
Our schools cover the 2 main geographical areas of Italy: The South and the North. Then, students can choose whether to enjoy the crystalline sea of the Southern town of Tropea or the multiculturalism of the Northern city of Trieste!
Over the years, Piccola Università Italiana has obtained numerous accreditations from institutions and organizations including the European Union, the Italian Ministry of Education, EDUITALIA, the Norwegian State for Educational Loan Fund, the University of Siena and the University of Perugia as exam centre for the certification of the Italian language, Ca ‘Foscari University of Venice and the University for Foreigners of Perugia as a site of training internships for Italian teachers for foreigners – L2, the International Association of Language Centers (IALC), US universities and colleges and many more!
