Our school also specialises in Italian for Opera singers.
Lessons will be held by great personalities such as the soprano Mazzucato, the tenor Max Renè Cosotti, the opera singer and actor Roberto Santini, the baritone and stage director Nicolò Ceriani and the pianist Federico Consoli.
Our Masterclass for Opera singers is addressed to opera singers or singer aspirants wanting to improve their abilities with well-know opera professionals from Italy adding a great workshop to their CV.
We offer intensive Italian language courses in the beautiful city of Trieste. An atmosphere rich in history and culture will sorround you along with a specific workshop on the traditions of Italian Opera, specialized lessons of Italian phonetics applied to opera singing and singing voice, and a final essay dedicated to the anthological performance of the Traviata and the Barber of Seville.

Content and number of lessons
This course is divided in 4 parts:
- Phonetics (6h): it focuses on the study of the standard Italian pronunciation applied to singing. It allows the student to autonomously distinguish Italian phonemes. Particular attention is given to the structure of the syllable, which is very different in Oriental languages, and to the consonantal quantity, a peculiarity of Italian. Thus, the student will be addressed to correct pronunciation which will allow him to immediately elevate the style without interfering with the technique.
- Intensive course (20 lessons/week): it mainly focuses on developing grammar and speaking skills.
- Opera singing workshop (18h)
- Private opera singing lessons (2 lessons x 30 minutes)
When it is not specified, each lesson lasts 55 minutes.
Objective
- Delivering general perfection to opera singers from a phonetic and linguistic perspective;
- Acquisition of specialized vocabulary and pronunciation rules related to correct articulation and spelling of Italian words;
- Acquisition of knowledge of the Italian language of Opera.
Size of groups
This course will be carried out in small groups of 6 to 8 participants. Some lessons will be individual.
